EDUCATION
Dr. Richard Popowitz grew up in Rockland and Bergen Counties. He attended Yale University and studied medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He received his orthopedic surgery training at The University of Miami / Jackson Memorial Hospital. He went on to complete a sports medicine fellowship at Sports Orthopedics and Rehabilitation (S.O.A.R.) affiliated with Stanford University. He has published papers and chapters in books as well as lectured at many orthopedic conferences.

SPORTS MEDICINE
Dr. Popowitz has had extensive and diversified sports medicine experience with athletes at the recreational and professional level. He has had the privilege of working with the University of Miami team doctors, a school boasting many nationally top-ranked teams and athletes. At S.O.A.R. he was affiliated with Stanford University and Santa Clara University, as well as, the San Francisco 49ers, the San Francisco Giants, and the San Jose Ballet Company. Dr. Popowitz has also served as the assistant team physician for the Miami Marlins baseball team for the past nine years.

PROFESSIONAL CAREER
Dr. Popowitz joined the team of Drs. Kraushaar and Fond in August 2004. Though specializing in sports-related injuries, Dr. Popowitz also treats patients of all ages with a wide range of orthopedic symptoms and diagnoses. He participates as a team doctor for local teams as well as for professional athletes.
